EDDM Postcards

EDDM Postcard Printing & Mailing Services

MMPrint produces Every Door Direct Mail postcards for businesses and organizations that want to reach every deliverable address along selected USPS carrier routes. EDDM is commonly used for local advertising because it targets neighborhoods without requiring an individual customer mailing list.

MMPrint can coordinate postcard printing, route-based quantities, bundling, required paperwork and mailing preparation. Customers can use the USPS EDDM mapping tool to compare carrier routes by location, residential addresses and available demographic information.

EDDM postcards must meet USPS size, weight, addressing and preparation requirements. Confirm postal eligibility before finalizing the artwork or selecting a custom postcard size.

Popular EDDM Postcard Sizes

  • 6.25 x 9 – A compact EDDM-compatible format that provides more visual space than a standard postcard.
  • 8.5 x 11 – A letter-size format with room for larger photographs, service lists, menus and promotional offers.
  • 9 x 12 – A high-visibility format for neighborhood campaigns requiring more space and visual impact.
  • 12 x 15 – A large format at the maximum EDDM flat dimensions when properly oriented and otherwise eligible.
  • Custom Sizes – Other dimensions may qualify if the finished piece meets current USPS EDDM standards.

Only order a custom size after its finished dimensions, thickness and weight have been reviewed for postal eligibility.

Current EDDM Retail Mailpiece Requirements

  • Flat-Mail Qualification – The piece must have a length greater than 10.5 inches, a height greater than 6.125 inches or a thickness greater than 0.25 inch.
  • Maximum Dimensions – The finished piece cannot exceed 15 inches long, 12 inches high or 0.75 inch thick.
  • Minimum Mailability – Pieces measuring 0.25 inch thick or less must be at least 5 inches long, 3.5 inches high and 0.007 inch thick.
  • Maximum Weight – An EDDM Retail mailpiece cannot weigh more than 3.3 ounces.
  • Daily Quantity – EDDM Retail requires at least 200 and permits up to 5,000 pieces per day per ZIP Code.
  • Route Coverage – The mailing generally reaches every eligible delivery address on each selected carrier route.

USPS requirements and postage rates can change. Final specifications should be checked against the current USPS EDDM tool and mailing standards before production.

EDDM Postcard Paper Options

  • Gloss-Coated Stock – A shiny surface that enhances photographs, colorful graphics and promotional offers.
  • Matte-Coated Stock – A lower-glare coated surface that balances image reproduction with readable text.
  • Uncoated Stock – A natural, non-glossy surface suitable when the piece needs to be written or stamped on.
  • Specialty Stocks – Suede, silk, metallic pearl and other specialty materials may be available after postal eligibility review.

Printing & Finishing Options

  • Full-Color Printing – Reproduce photographs, maps, menus, products, properties and branded campaign artwork.
  • Two-Sided Printing – Use one side for the primary promotion and the other for supporting details and postal preparation elements.
  • UV Coating – Adds a glossy coated surface to qualifying paper stocks and mailpiece configurations.
  • Spot Varnish – Applies gloss selectively to qualifying headlines, photographs, logos or design elements.
  • Round Corners – May be available when the finished corner radius and construction remain eligible for mailing.
  • Custom Specifications – Request a quote for sizes, stocks or finishes not shown in the standard configuration.
